Try a Blue Light Filter: Your Eyes will Thank You

As you are reading this content on your smartphone📱, tablet or computer, you’re currently being exposed to blue light🌌 which is emitted from all digital devices. And you should be aware that this blue light does significant damage to your health.

The Science behind blue light

It is known to all that waves with different wavelength and energy, are represented on Electromagnetic Spectrum (The shorter the wavelength, the higher the energy).
The human eye is sensitive to only one part of this spectrum: Visible Light💡. This visible light can be split into 7 different colors: violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red. Blue light has a very short wavelength, so produces a higher amount of energy.

Why is it harmful?

The blue light from your computer screens and other digital devices can cause eyestrain👁, headaches, fatigue and sleep problems which will inevitably impact your daily productivity and mood.
It can also lead to more serious long-term health👨‍⚕ issues by increasing the risk of depression, heart❤ disease, obesity, and macular degeneration, which leads to vision impairment.

How can you protect yourself?

There are a number of solutions including screen filter, apps, and computer glasses.
👉 You can attach a screen protecting filter to the front of your device that filters out blue light.
👉 There are lots of smartphone apps (e.g. Twilight) that mask or filter the blue light by shifting the color tone of what is on the screen to warmer parts of the spectrum like yellow, orange or red.
👉 Blue light blocking glasses are also made for filtering light while looking at computer or smartphone screen displays.
Apart from these, Night🌠 Mode (in Android), Night Shift (in Apple) are built-in functions in smartphones to adjust the screen for light filtering.
